Wow, half the month is already over! It’s insane!
I’ve been busy, mostly working on Ever Touched and my class. My knee is still a problem, and I have an appointment with my doctor in 2 weeks, so I’ll be talking to him for sure.
Here’s the rundown:
Ever Touched Revision – Up to 117 pages done, just over halfway. I will need a second pass though. There are parts I’d forgotten I’d written, and stuff that needs to be figured out yet.
Short story – We’re in the copyediting phase now. I sent mine in already. Just waiting for the story I’m copyediting to come to me. 🙂 (We share copyediting duties so one person isn’t bogged down with it).
FYFB class – I’m a bit behind now. Lessons 6-12 posted yesterday, and I need to listen to at least one today. I’m on the worksheets for lesson 4. Had a slight hiccup because I’m supposed to be comparing my book (the one I’m supposed to write for the class. Probably Elysium) to others out there, and I’m having a hard time finding any! I bought two books that looked promising to read, and I’ve started reading both (yes, I am insane!). So, next up is lesson 6.
Water – Every day except one.
Exercise – Nada, due to the knee problem.
Reviews – Just posted one yesterday. I have a deadlined one coming this week. Still working on my backlog.
Photography – I was supposed to have a picnic with my hubby at a lovely park, where I planned to take both digital infrared and regular pics. But yesterday I got really sick, so we postponed it to next week. I was not happy 😦
Weight – I have technically lost the 5 pounds I recently gained, but the plan was to lose 5 pounds, not gain any. I’m trying really hard, so we’ll see what happens in the next few weeks.
Next project – I am leaning toward Death Dancer, just because it will most likely be a TDP release, and it needs some work before I can offer it up. Still pondering though. I also had a brainstorm for my older project Darkweaver and I am itching to outline it. Big time. Again, we’ll see.
Chocolate consumption – pumpkin chocolate chip muffins, chocolate caramel thingies, WW sundaes, ultimate chocolate sandwiches. Lots of snickerdoodles again. I am really addicted to those.
Great job on the edits!!
Thanks, Fallon!
Losing weight is so hard. I need to lose about 15 pounds so I’m trying to exercise. I hae exercies. I hope your knee feels better soon.
Thank you, Caren! Losing weight is probably one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. When I was younger, I didn’t have any issue with weight b/c I worked two jobs and was running around college every day.
Then I got into secretarial/office work and was sitting all day, plus discovering novel writing, plus the internet in general…I was a goner. The pounds just piled on. And due to the fibromyalgia, I have to be careful how and when I exercise, so I have never been able to nail down an exercise program that didn’t send me into a flare up. It’s been a struggle. I hope to change all of this soon.
Thanks also on my knee. I appreciate it.
Lots of progress, despite the knee!
I just dug into a story file I thought was in great shape – nope! I’m pretty much going to be rewriting – POV changes, structure changes, lots of revision and polishing.
I’m both eager to get started and dreading it (but it won’t likely really get underway until Wednesday, as I’ve got plans for a good chunk of today and tomorrow).
Adding my wishes for a speedily recovered knee! =D
Thank you, Shan!
I was dreading this revision myself, and I’m still dreading the rest b/c I think there’s a whole lot more work to do on it. But that’s the nature of things. We want our stories to be closer to what we envisioned Good luck with yours. .
Some serious Hamiltoning (yes, I’ve decided that’s a word!) has offered some inspiration, and I wrote three very short poems. I’m going to let the story simmer for a bit – another day or two, maybe – then I’m diving in until I’ve got something a lot closer to submission-ready.
May you find the rest of the project just the right kind of challenging! =)
Knee issues are some of the worst. My husband has big ones and I have to bring him to the swimming pool if he is to have any exercise at all. Best wishes and I hope your knee is better soon.
Your revisions sound a lot like mine. Thanks for sharing, it made me smile to know I’m not the only one to find this sort of thing in my work. Here’s hoping the process goes well.
Thanks, Harpwriter!
Truly, you are not alone. 🙂
Shan, yay on the inspiration and short poems! And thank you!
