#ROW80 Round 1 2016 Goals

I can’t believe how quickly 2015 passed by. Blink and you miss it, seriously! It is unbelievable. But here we are, the 3rd day of the new year, and a new round of ROW80 (A Round of Words in 80 Days). I’ve been participating in ROW80 for the past 2 years because it keeps me producing and accountable, two things I desperately need.

So, without further adieu, here are my goals:

~Finish revision of Pirouette for submission to publisher (currently on page 203 of 243, but don’t let that fool you. I have a few plot holes to fill.)
~Write synopsis (first time doing that!)
~Submit to publisher by 1/31
~Finish Fireborn first draft (Reaper Girl novella, 19k of 25k currently)
~Make progress on Covenant, secondary WIP
~Log in planner goals + to dos every day/every month (trying something new!)
~Physical activity: 15 mins 3x a week (anything that gets me moving counts!)
~After Pirouette revision is finished, 8 minutes of focused writing per day on a first draft of my choice (another new thing).
~Develop test roll of b&w film

So, I think that will keep me moving. Here’s to another great new year!

  1. Ooooh! I think you’ll enjoy playing with the black and white film! My husband used to have a dark room set up in our basement, and I would help him develop his film rolls. He once found an unidentified film roll from when he was a teenager, and developed it in his B&W dark room. Turns out, it had been color slide film, and the prints looked greenish! He never was able to explain how that happened.

Anyway, have fun! The rest of your goals look great, too, by the way. But playing with film! That rocks! 8-D

  2. Thanks Tammy! I’ve actually done it before — for many years, actually, until about 2008 or so when I went on hiatus for health reasons. 🙂 I love, love, love B&W film! I love processing my own rolls! So cool that you used to help your husband! Neat about the color slide roll — I believe it’s because the chemicals used to process b&w film are different from the chemicals used to process color film. So it would come out odd. But I bet they looked cool. Some people do that on purpose (cross-processing). 😉 I haven’t tried it myself…yet. But maybe someday…

  3. Back in high school I took photography class. We only used black and white film. It was so neat. Can’t remember how to do it, though. (Well, maybe vaguely?)

Those are some great and ambitious goals. I love that you’re trying new stuff (keeping the creative process fresh). Wishing you the best! 🙂

    1. Gloria – Awesome!!! I never got to learn it in high school, although I did love taking pictures. Didn’t properly learn anything till college. 😉 Thank you for the well wishes.

  4. A great list of goals to kick off the new year. Let me know if you uncover any synopsis-writing secrets this round. I’ll have to write a few this year, too.

I hope you share some of your black and white photography on your blog. Sounds fun!

  5. Lovely, lovely goals. I can feel you through them, loud and clear.

And I aim to give you plenty of recreational TnT reading, so that you can enjoy the time between goals, too! =)
